As a travel enthusiast and cultural explorer, some time back I had the opportunity to visit Port Saeed in Deira (UAE). This historic port, situated on the shores of Dubai Creek, is a fascinating mix of old and new. It’s a place where you can step back in time and immerse yourself in the history of this incredible city.
Despite it's a part of a modern city, the port still manages to retain a sense of old-world charm. The bustling port is alive with activity, as ships, boats, and barges come and go, carrying goods and people to and from the city.
As I wandered around the port, I couldn’t help but feel as if I had stepped back in time. The old-style wooden boats and ships, the sound of seagulls, and the salty air all combined to create a truly authentic experience. I found myself drawn to the old warehouses and docks, where I could see the evidence of years of hard work and commerce.
Another exciting aspect of Port Saeed is the opportunity to take a traditional dhow cruise along the creek. These traditional boats offer a unique and peaceful way to experience the beauty of the creek and the city. The sunset dhow cruise I took was a magical experience, with the sun setting over the creek and the lights of the city slowly coming to life.
Port Saeed in Deira, Dubai Creek, is a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Dubai. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, or just a unique travel experience, Port Saeed has something to offer. I would highly recommend taking a step back in time and visiting this incredible place. You won't be disappointed!
